Margaret Pollock With sadness we announce the death of E. Margaret Pollock (nee Wilson), age 90, at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home on Monday, July 5, 2010. Margaret, born and raised in Wyandotte district of the R.M. of Lost River, attended Normal School in Saskatoon and taught at Crescent View, Laura, Vonda and Floral schools. On October 15, 1945, she married R. Murray Pollock, settling on a farm in the Gideon School area west of Saskatoon where they raised three children before moving to Saskatoon in 1965. There, they grew a garden that was their pride and joy. Margaret was active in the UCW, baking for bazaars, visiting and sharing her love of reading. In 2000, she moved to Oliver Place where she resided until 2005. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray; parents, Herbert and Susannah; sister, Phyllis Cooper; and brothers, John and Herbert. Margaret leaves to mourn: son Al (Bonnie), grandson Brent (Kathy), greatgrandsons Darrian and Reis, granddaughter Wendy (Michael) Bernas, greatgranddaughters Ava and Paige, all of Sherwood Park, AB; son Bill (Kathleen), grandsons Robert (Katelynn) and John, all of Saskatoon, SK; daughter Faye Huggins, granddaughter Suzanne Huggins (Dan Bowman) and great-grandchildren Savannah and Daelen, all of Regina, SK; sister Dorothy Funkner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd Street West, Saskatoon) on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Deb Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Mayfair United Church.
