The death of George Hodgson, an old and highly thought of resident of the Farmington district, occurred at the home of his son, Thomas, on lot 4, con. 1, Amaranth, on Wednesday, October 27th. He had been in failing health for some time, but his death was due to heart trouble. The late Mr. Hodgson was born at Raglan, Whitby township, near Oshawa on February 3rd, 1847, and was therefore in his eightieth year when over taken by death. He was a son of the late Thomas and Ann Hodgson, early settlers of East Whitby township. Of a family of nine sons and one daughter, only Christopher, a younger brother, survives. In 1871 deceased was married to Maria Edington. The young couple lived for some years at Raglan, on the farm now occupied by his son, Will. In 1891 they moved to lot 4, con. 1, Amaranth, where Mrs. Hodgson predeceased her husband about thirteen years ago. Deceased was a quiet, industrious man, very much devoted to his home and family and a good neighbour. He was an Anglican in religion and a Conservative in politics. He is survived by two sons, Will, of Raglan, and Thos., on the homestead in Amaranth. The funeral, which was largely attended by neighbours and friends, was held to Greenwood cemetery on Friday afternoon, October 29th. Services were conducted at the house and grave by Rev. J.W. McDonald, rector of St. Mark's Anglican church. The pallbearers were Messrs. W. H. Gillespie, J. B. Walker, Jas. M. Stinson, Ben Robinson, Israel Miller and Geo. Smith. The floral tributes included a sickle and sheaf from the family, a wreath from Mr. Gordon Hodgson and a wreath from Mr. and Mrs. Wm. and Miss Sadie Little.

The relatives from a distance included Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hodgson and family and Mr. Chas Braun of Raglan; Mr. Christopher Hodgson, of Brooklin, Ont.; Dr. E. G. and Miss Blanche Hodgson, of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Alden Hodgson, of Kitchener and Mr. Gordon Hodgson, of Toronto.

On Thursday last Mrs. George Hodgson passed away at her home in Amaranth after a few weeks illness, aged 69 years. Deceased was a very highly respected lady and had resided in Amaranth, on the farm on which she died, about some 24 years. Mrs. Hodgson was married some 45 years ago at Whitby, Ontario and her maiden name was Maria Edington. Her home was previous to marriage at Stansted, Quebec. The bereaved husband and their two sons survive. The sons are Mr. W. H. Hodgson who resides at Whitby, and Mr. Thomas W. Hodgson, of Amaranth. One sister, Miss Mary Edington also survives and was living with Mrs. Hodgson. The funeral took place from the family residence, Lot 4, Con. 1, on Saturday to Greenwood Cemetery and was largely attended. Rev. George W. Tebbs, rector of St. Mark's Church officiated at home and grave. The pall bearers were: Messrs. Ben Robinson, Joseph Gillespie, John Armstrong, Isreal Miller, William Little and James Stinson.

The death occurred in Amaranth on Thursday, December 4th, of Mrs. Maria Hodgson, beloved wife of Mr. George Hodgson. The late Mrs. Hodgson was born in the province of Quebec 69 years ago, and later with her husband she resided in Ontario county for some years then moving to Amaranth where she had lived for the past 30 years. Deceased was of high character and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was ever ready to assist and help those in trouble and her many neighborly acts will long be remembered. No person ever was denied practical sympathy and assistance by her and she was a shining example for the young to follow. Mrs. Hodgson was a staunch member of St. Mark's church and will be greatly missed by her many friends in church circles. The funeral which was largely attended took place on Saturday afternoon the 6th inst, to Greenwood cemetery. Rev. G. W. Tebbs conducted religious services at the house and grave. Besides her husband two sons are left to mourn her loss, William at home and Thomas of Whitby. The pallbearers were: Joseph Glllespie, John Little, Ben Robinson, Israel Miller, J. B. Armstrong and James Stinson.

Thomas Wharton Hodgson, a well-known and respected resident of the Orangeville district, died at his home, lot 4, con. 1, Amaranth, on Wednesday, November 17th, after a rather lengthy illness. Due to heart trouble he had been in indifferent health for some years.

Born at Raglan, Ontario County, nine miles from Oshawa, Mr. Hodgson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hodgson. It was here that he spent his school days. In 1891 he moved with his parents to the present homestead in Amaranth, where he had since lived. On May 22nd, 1912 he married Miss Alice Little, a daughter of the late William Little, of Orangeville. His demise is mourned by his wife and a family of six - Meta, a nurse in training in the Toronto General Hospital, Mrs. Jas. Golden, Weston, and Della, Ruth, Arthur and Betty at home. His only brother, Wm. H. Hodgson, of Highway 10, Mono, died five years ago. The deceased was a member of St. Mark's church, Orangeville, and a staunch Conservative. A quiet, kindly man, honorable in his dealings, he was well liked and held in high respect in his home community.

The funeral was held from his late home to Greenwood cemetery, Orangeville, on Friday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of neighbors and friends. Rev. Canon West-McMaster conducted the service in the bereaved home, in which the familiar and much loved hymn, "Abide With Me" was sung with impressive effect. The remains were borne to their last resting place by two brothers-in-law, Jas. Little and Jas. M. Stinson, and four neighbors, Ben Robinson, J. B. Walker, George Smith and Albert Miller. The flowerebearers were Melville Walker, Edmund Stinson, Clarence Trimble and Clinton Robinson.

The floral tributes were: Pillow, the wife and family; sprays, Mrs. Wm. Little and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Golden and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Little and Russell; baskets, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Watson; spray, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Stinson, Edmund and Garnett; basket, St. Mark's ch. W. A. and Parish Guild; sprays, Mrs. W.
