Marriage Notes for Marjorie Little and Henry Hutchings:
Shelburne Free Press & Economist - July 27, 1966 - MR. AND MRS. HENRY LAWRENCE HUTCHINGS:
On Friday evening, July 1st, 1966, St. Paul's Church, Shelburne, was the scene of a lovely candlelight service when Marjorie Lillian Little, daughter of Mrs. Leonard Halbert and the late Thomas Little exchanged marriage vows with Henry Lawrence Hutchings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hutchings of Cow Head, Newfoundland. Rev. J. M. Dobson officiated. Miss Grace Tipling presided at the organ and Mavis Hill sang "0 Perfect Love" and "Bless This House".

The bride wore a floor length silk shantung dress with lace trim and crystal, tiara and carried a cascade of red roses. She was given in marriage by her brother George and walked up the aisle to the strains of "On This Day".

She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Jean Hill, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion Little. The groom was supported by Mr. Arthur Little and Mr. Leslie Little. Leading the bridal procession was Tommy Little, nephew of the bride, carrying the two matching rings on a red satin cushion. Nancy Elver, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

All the bride's attendants wore street length white dresses and carried bouquets of red roses.

Mr. Walter Little welcomed the guests as they arrived.

After the service a social time was spent on the church lawn while photos were taken. The bridal couple then led the way to the church parlor where a dainty lunch was served to 75 guests.

The wedding service followed Newfoundland customs and traditions. In the absence of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Halbert acted in this capacity and invited the guests to their home to see the bride's gifts, and served light refreshments.

The bride and groom left for a short honeymoon trip to Kingston and the Thousand Islands with plans to go by jet plane to visit the groom's parents later in July.

They will reside in Rexdale.
