Orangeville Orangeville and area firefighters were saddened Monday morning as they learned of the loss of Dan Little, a firefighter with the Orangeville Fire Department since 1949. According to Fire Chief Bill Noble, Mr. Little served as a firefighter up until the beginning of this year when he entered the fire prevention ranks of the department. "He had quite a history as a public relations man for the Town" Mr. Noble said. "It is a loss for the fire department." A member of the American Association of Firefighters, Mr. Little was the "instigator" of getting a firefighters memorial erected at the Ontario Fire College in Gravenhurst Ontario, according to Chief Noble. Prior to Monday night's council meeting, Orangeville Mayor Gord Courtney informed the rest of the council about Mr. Little's death. He proceeded by asking council and the audience to rise for a moment of silence. Mr. Little is survived by wife Susie and children Gwen, Joyce, John, Linda Fuller, David and his wife Sandy, Susan Dwyer, Wendy, Dana, Rob and his wife Mary. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday, June 8, 1989 at 2:00 pm at Tweedsmuir Church with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Children: 1. Remembered by her siblings Joyce, John, Susan, Wendy, Dana, Rob and Ann. Predeceased by her parents Dan & Isabel Little and her brother David and her sister Linda.
