 Waver Isabel LibbyMarried name: Waver Isabel /Brack/, born 04 May 1914 Stanstead, Quebec, Canada, died 18 Oct 2008 Fort Collins, Larimer, Colorado, United States of America, 94 years Mrs. Waver Libby Brock, of St. Johnsbury, passed away Oct. 18, 2008, in Fort Collins, Colo., at the age of 94. She was born in Stanstead, Quebec, on May 4, 1914, and was the daughter of Clarence and Laura (Tilton) Libby. Her husband, William J. Brock, passed away Oct. 10, 1985. She had lived in the St. Johnsbury and Danville areas since 1930. Waver enjoyed her horses and was an active member of the St. Johnsbury Riding Club. A member of the Rebekahs and the Eastern Star, she was a homemaker until she started working at Maple Grove as a candy packer. She was always an avid knitter and donated many mittens, caps, and scarves to The Santa Fund for needy children. She moved out to Colorado for the first time in 2002 and made her home with David and Arlene until the summer of 2004. She missed St. Johnsbury and returned to be with her longtime friends - her last residence here was at the Colonial Apartments. For health reasons she returned to Colorado in September of 2006 to stay with David and Arlene. She is survived by her son David W. Brock and his wife Arlene of Fort Collins, two grandchildren Sarah and husband Steve of Mich., Gregory D. Brock and wife Nina of Mich.; three great-grandchildren Mona, Kirk and Maria Leach; two brothers George Hopkins and wife Tess of Windsor Locks, Conn., and Bickford C. Libby and wife Audrey of Orleans; and nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held next summer at the Danville Green Cemetery. David was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to William and Waver Brock. He graduated high school there and went on to Boston University and earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. On June 27, 1964, he married his wife, Arlene. Survivors include his wife; son Greg of Fort Collins, and daughter Sarah (and husband Steve) of Michigan; three grandchildren, Mona, Kirk, and Maria Leach; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a veteran with the National Guard, and loved volunteering at the Senior Center and the Colorado Welcome Center. David had many hobbies, loved his trains, airplanes, and cars. He even got his pilot’s license before his driver’s license! He was a great skier and racer starting at 6 years old. David will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. | |||
