AGED WIDOW OF REV. FRENCH RICE PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Elizabeth Rice died at her home at Yatesville Monday of this week. She was the widow of Rev. French Rice and the daughter of a pioneer citizen Jeptha Hewlett, of near Fallsburg. Mrs. Rice was 83 years of age. She was born March 18, 1838, was married August 27, 1857 an died April 4, 1921.

She leaves one daughter and five sons, thirty grandchildren and thirty-tree great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rice had lived the life of a Christian for many years. Her funeral was conducted from the old home, on Wednesday by her brother Rev. H. B. Hewlett of Louisa, and was attended by a very large gathering of friends.

Elizabeth married Robert French Rice on 27 Aug 1857 in Carter, Kentucky, United States of America. (Robert French Rice was born on 13 Mar 1840 in Garner, Carter, Kentucky, United States of America, died on 30 Apr 1919 and was buried in Compton Cemetery, Yatesville, Lawrence, Kentucky, United States of America.)
