AGED WIDOW OF REV. FRENCH RICE PASSES AWAY Mrs. Elizabeth Rice died at her home at Yatesville Monday of this week. She was the widow of Rev. French Rice and the daughter of a pioneer citizen Jeptha Hewlett, of near Fallsburg. Mrs. Rice was 83 years of age. She was born March 18, 1838, was married August 27, 1857 an died April 4, 1921.
She leaves one daughter and five sons, thirty grandchildren and thirty-tree great grandchildren.
Mrs. Rice had lived the life of a Christian for many years. Her funeral was conducted from the old home, on Wednesday by her brother Rev. H. B. Hewlett of Louisa, and was attended by a very large gathering of friends. - The Big Sandy News - April 8, 1921, Louisa, Kentucky, USA
