Thomas Harris Ballenger, age 59, of Hickory, NC, passed away May 2, 2011 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab in Hickory. He was born in Catawba County, NC, and previously worked at Moretz Mills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Payton and Joyce Harris Ballenger, wife, Linda Ballenger, father in law, Arnold Phillips, brothers in law, Roger Allen Phillips and Billy Banks

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 7:00PM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00AM in the Malone Gouge Cemetery.

Henline-Hughes is assisting the Ballenger family.

Thomas married Linda Sue Phillips, daughter of Arnold Shelby Phillips and Marie Pitman, in 1969. (Linda Sue Phillips was born on 29 Sep 1953 in Bakersville, Mitchell, North Carolina, United States of America, died on 17 Apr 2005 in Hickory, Catawba, North Carolina, United States of America and was buried in Gouge Cemetery, Mitchell, North Carolina, United States of America.)
