Marvin Danny Phillips

  General Notes:

Marvin Danny Phillips, age 50, of Bakersville, NC passed away September 19, 2014 at his home. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Glen and June Ledford Phillips. He was self employed as a carpenter and millwright worker. He attended Pigeon Roost Brethren Church.

Danny had a heart of gold and was very giving to his community. He loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed hotrod cars.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Phillips Benfield.

Survivors include; his two daughters; Andrea Phillips, of Spruce Pine, NC, and Sarah Phillips, of Boone, NC, one sister; Vickie Phillips Sweeney, (Bill), of Fort Mill, SC, three brothers; Ronald Franklin Phillips, of Marion, NC, David P. Phillips, (Pam), of Bakersville, NC, and Scottie Ray Phillips, (Sherry), also of Bakersville, NC, two grandchildren; Isaac Phillips, and Dillon Phillips, one uncle; Jim Ledford, of Bakersville, NC, nieces and nephews; Shannon Benfield, Jeff Benfield, Thomas Dewayne Phillips, Ashley Marie Phillips, Kacey Yelton, Lucas Phillips, Julia Ann Sweeney, special friends R. L. Hoilman, Steve Miller, Floyd Garland, Darrell Murphy, Jerry Bowers and father in law Phil.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 4:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Joe Brown officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Malone Gouge Cemetery.
