Donald Wayne Phillips, age 57, of Granite Falls, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 8, 1961 in Mitchell County to the late Edward Eugene Phillips and Frances Ruth Phillips.
Mr. Phillips worked as a shipping supervisor at Grasche USA. He loved music and was a talented guitarist and singer. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Donald had a great sense of humor and always left you smiling and laughing.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his girlfriend of 18 years, Angela Mullins of the home; sons, Edward Derek Phillips of the home, Steve Yount of Granite Falls and Justin Mullins of Hickory; one daughter, Hollie Hill of the home; sisters, Frances Carlton of Hudson, Kathy English and husband Ricky of Bakersville, Vivian Arrowood and husband Douglas of Bakersville, and Tammy Lingerfelt and husband Kenneth of Bakersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Gouge Cemetery in Bakersville.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 8, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
