Annemarie (Leibley) Barefoot McTaggart

Reno - Annemarie was born June 27, 1926 to Frank Leibly MD and Phyllis (Schnader) Leibly MD. They moved to Seattle, WA in 1928 where her two sisters, Helen (Bunje) and Phyllis (Mediati) and two brothers, Neil and Frank (Linda) were born.

Annemarie graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Math and History. She also studied voice and piano at Cornish School of Music and the Arts, and received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Golden Gate University in Sacramento, California.

She played piano and harpsichord in early music groups and was an accomplished singer. Annemarie was active in many organizations: Northern Nevada Mensa Society, Nevada Music Teachers Association, and advocate at Northern Nevada Museum of Art, and taught music at Elder College. She was predeceased by her parents and her two wonderful husbands, Wesley Barefoot and Thomas McTaggart.

Annemarie was a devoted Secular Franciscan, devoting many volunteer hours to Saint Mary's Hospital and Washoe Medical Center (Renown) Hospital. She was an avid reader and wonderful to her friends. She will be sorely missed and forever live on in everyone and everything she as touched.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Reno at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walton Funeral Home in Reno.
