Mr. and Mrs. Franklin J. Fuller, 72 King Street East announce the forthcoming marriage of their eldest daughter Ethel Mary to John Gibson Richardson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Richardson, R.R. 5 Shelburne. The marriage to take place on June 22, 1973 at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Georgetown.

Gibson Richardson was killed instantly early Sunday morning August 12th when hit by a car while parking his motorcycle on King Street North in Waterloo. He was born on January 12, 1953 in Shelburne, the third child of Gordon and Maye Richardson. Gibson was raised on a farm on the corner of the Blind Line and Twenty-Five Sideroad of Mono, where his father had been born and raised. Gibson attended public school at s.s. #l2 where Mrs. Clark Hall was his teacher for eight years, and then attended Centre Dufferin District High School for four years. Following a short period with the Dufferin Potato Storage, Gibson started his apprenticeship with the Canadian National Railway on March 13, 1972. On June 22, 1973, he married Ethel Mary Fuller in Georgetown, Ontario, the daughter of Frank and the late Teresa Fuller. Following their marriage, Gibson and Ethel lived near Glen Cross in the Hockley Valley. Gibson successfully completed his Carman apprenticeship with the C.N.R. on November 28, 1976, and continued to work for the Railway. He later worked as a welder for Ravens Trailers, Orangeville, did electrical work for Hillcrest Electric, Shelburne, drove transport truck with his brother-in-law Frank Fuller, and at the time of his death was working for Barrie Plumbing in Orangeville. Gibson is survived by his wife, Ethel and son, Jason Lavern, his parents Gordon and Maye, his brother Reynold, and sisters Sheila, Rhonda and Brenda, his Grandmother Mrs. Gibson Richardson Sr., and his Grandfather Lavern Cudney. Gibson was confirmed at St. James Church, Primrose while Reverend J.M. Dobson was the minister. The funeral was held on August 15th from Gamble Funeral Home, Shelburne. The service was taken by Rev. L Phillips and was largely attended. The pall bearers were Wayne Ariss, Keith Bellerby, David Darby, Bob French, John Green and Bob Kamins, all friends of the deceased. The flower bearers were Alinda Horsley Bishop, Louise Gulley Thompson, Darlene Melon, Curtis Richardson, Eric Richardson and Janice Brown Bookman, all cousins of the deceased. Interment is in Shelburne Cemetery.
