Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory

Our Mom, Theresa Clegg (nee Scicluna) peacefully passed away on Thursday April 7, 2022 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Mom was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 15, 1924. She was the sister of George, Harold, Pat, Mary, Grace and Jean and the daughter of the late, Anthony & Ann Scicluna.

Mom dedicated her life to raising her sons. We were raised with the values and beliefs of a Catholic home. It was our backyard where all the neighbourhood boys came to play. Mom would be right in there with us playing baseball or whatever game we had going. She enjoyed walking, swimming, playing golf and of course, polar bears! She learned new skills when we moved from Toronto to the farm, near Bradford, ON. Driving a tractor became a common event along with learning to preserve the produce! Along with our Dad (Frank), Mom instilled in us an ethic to hard work along with the values of honouring your commitments and speaking up for what you believed. Some would argue that Mom was especially good at the last one. Mom became, as she called herself, a “retired mom” in 1982 and expanded her focus and love to her grandchildren.

We wish to extend a special thank you to Isabelle, Kim, Julianna, Jocelyn and Neville for taking care of mom and being companions. We thank all her caregivers who shared their love with mom. We would also like to thank the team of medical professionals at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital who did everything possible to determine what was ailing her and, in the end, made sure she was comfortable.

Mom will be reunited with her son Anthony. She will be deeply missed by her other sons, Frank (Davida), R.J. (Marg) and her daughter-in-law Mary Lynn. She was a loving grandmother to Denise (Chris), Stephanie (Dusan), Michael (Sabrina), Ryan, Christopher and Jason and a dear great grandmother to Charlotte, Lucas, James and Liam.

Mom will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A private funeral service has been held.

Theresa married Frank Melville Clegg, son of William John Clegg and Grace Darling Johnston. (Frank Melville Clegg was born on 22 Nov 1924, died on 8 Oct 1992 and was buried in Uxbridge Cemetery, Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada.)
