Shelburne Free Press & Economist - February 4, 1976 - Page 14 - FALL WEDDING: BOOKMAN-BROWN:
October 11, 1975 marked an intimate Thanksgiving wedding at the home of the bride's parents, when Janice Amelia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown, Primrose, was united in marriage to Mr. Marvin Colin Bookman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bookman, Creemore.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length white jersey gown in a style similar to that of the previous century. The gown had a stand-up collar of white antique lace, with a Juliet sleeve bordered with matching lace at the upper sleeve and cuff. A wide waistband of the same lace topped the flowing skirt which fell to a lace border near the bottom.

The bride wore a charming bridal picture hat accented with an extra layer of tulle and satin ribbon.

The maid of honour, Miss Rhonda Richardson wore a gown of forest green ombre, the ribbon-like effect of the material gave the Victorian-style gown a very becoming appearance. She wore a matching picture hat and carried a nosegay of yellow daisies. The bride's bouquet consisted of red roses accented with Stephanosis, babys breath and English ivy.

The groomsman was Mr. Kent Perry of Orangeville, a friend of the groom.

Officiating at the double-ring ceremony was Rev. Bruce Besley of Primrose United Church. The wedding music was Moody Blues Medleys and the bridal march was Watching and Waiting, while Nights in White Satin was played during the signing of the register.

A reception and buffet dinner was served at home and a dance followed at Mulmur-Mono area school.

The bride's mother welcomed the guests in a floor length gown of French-blue polyester with a matching lace bodice length jacket. She wore a corsage of pink cattalya orchids. Mother of the groom wore a peach-toned polyester gown with a bell sleeved jacket. Her corsage was pale green cattalya orchids.

For a honeymoon the bride wore a khaki-beige pant suit accented with chocolate brown accessories and a corsage of rust mums.

Out of town guests were present from Calgary, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Peterborough, Toronto and Brampton.
