Laverty, Kaye Janice (nee Henry)
With her family by her side, peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Friday, February 1, 2019, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late Jim (2011). Dear mother of Grant (Laura-Lee) and Julie (Shawn). Cherished grandmother of Natasha (Bobby), Clayton (Amy), and Leeatte; great-grandmother of Sadie Kaye. Dear sister of Aub (the late Min) and the late Vadus (2018). Kaye will also be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and Pugsley. Kaye was a R.N. for over 40 years in the Orangeville area, she specialized in obstetrics, and touched many lives during her career. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Headwaters Health Care Centre (ICU) and the Shelburne Residence for the special care she received during the last year and a half.

A Celebration of Kaye's Life will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Sunday, February 24th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Shelburne Residence or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Kaye in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com

Corbetton United Church was the scene of a pretty autumn wedding on Saturday, October 17th, when Kaye Janice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Branter Henry, of Corbetton, was united in marriage with James William Laverty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Laverty, of Orangeville. Mr. W. J. Stewart, assisted by Rev. W. C. Tupling, of Cedar Springs, cousin of the bride, performed the double-ring ceremony. Baskets of bronze pompoms and yellow shasta 'mums and ferns, in a setting of autumn leaves, decorated the church. Miss Barbara Brown, of Port Credit, cousin of the bride, played the wedding music. The soloists were Mr. George Doney, of Toronto, who sang, "The Wedding Prayer," before the ceremony and Rev. Tupling sang "The Lord's Prayer" by Malotte, during the signing of the register.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown, of hand-clipped French lace over net and traditional satin with fitted pointed bodice, styled with a sabrina neckline and long lily-point sleeves. The bouffant skirt provided back interest with yards and yards of rich lace tiers. A small full crown of seed pears and rhinestones held her finger-tip veil of pure silk hand-rolled illusion. She wore a single strand of pearls with matching earrings and carried a cascade bouquet of red Pearl of Aalsmeer roses with feathered white 'mums. She was preceded up the aisle by little Miss Beverley Brown of Shelburne, who carried a basket of yellow shasta and white pinnochio 'mums and scattered rose peals in front of the bride.

The bride's cousin, Mrs. Maurice Beacock, of Toronto, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Anne Laverty, of Orangeville, sister of the groom, Miss Marie McIntosh, Corbetton, and Miss Marion Hunter, Orangeville. Little Miss Gail Madill of Leamington carried the rings on a satin cushion. The attendants wore identical ballerina-length gowns of Crystal Charm styled on princess lines with empire waistlines and hooped buffant skirts, square necklines and brief sleeves. Small velvet bows down the backs provided back interest. Matching hats with streamers down the back and elbow-length mitts completed the picture. The matron of honor wore bronze while the bridesmaids chose emerald green. They carried ballerina bouquets of yellow and bronze pompom 'mums. The flower girl and ring-bearer wore short dresses of gold crystal charm with full-tiered skirts and gold headbands.

Harvey Haddock of Mono Centre was groomsman. The ushers were Aubrey Henry, brother of the bride, and Murray Ray Robinson, Hillsburg, cousin of the groom.

The reception was in the church hall, where the W. A. served a hot turkey dinner. The bride's mother wore a bronze brocade sheath dress with brown accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Laverty chose navy blue shantung with silver and white trim and white accessories. She wore a corsage of white carnations. Assisting in serving were Miss Judy Stewart, Kay Stewart, Joan and Barbara Brown and Winona Fraser.

Leaving on a wedding trip to Northern Ontario, the bride wore a brown Regina fur jacket over a green wool dress with brown and beige derby hat and a corsage of light and dark bronze pompom 'mums.

Mr. and Mrs. Laverty have taken up residence on their farm in Mono and the bride has returned to her duties on the nursing staff of Orangeville hospital.

Bride-to-Be Entertained Mrs. Maurice Beacock held a pantry and kitchen shower for Miss Kaye Henry at the home of Mrs. Musetta Watson in Shelburne on Friday, October 2nd, where many former high school classmates spent a happy time together.

On Monday, October 5th Miss Marion Hunter held a kitchen shower in Guelph and entertained the nurses of the 1959 graduating class and other friends.
Trousseau Tea Mrs. Branter Henry gave a trousseau tea on Saturday, October 10th, in honor of her daughter, Kaye. Former class mates of the bride served. Pouring tea were Mrs. Musetta Watson, Mrs. Earl McFarlane, Mrs. Doris Rayburn, Mrs. George Miles, Mrs. Bert Madill, Mrs. Dalton Brown, Miss Mary Waters of Dundalk and Mrs. Ed Couts of Orangeville.
