Richard Gordon Addison ²³⁰⁸

On Saturday February 5, 2022 loving husband and father of two children passed away at the age of 80 in Camarillo, Ca with his family at his side after his long battle with cancer. Richard was born on March 24, 1941 in Newport, VT to Mary Channel Addison and Gordon W Addison. He grew up in Newport, VT, and graduated salutatorian of his class at Newport High School in 1959. He went on to study Electrical Engineering at Union College in Schenectady, NY, after which he was hired by the as a civilian contractor by the federal government. He started his career in Washington DC and later moved to Puerto Rico for five years eventually ending up in Camarillo, CA. Richard travelled between Washington DC and California for the remainder of his career, retiring after 35 years of federal service.
On April 27th 1962 Richard married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline Janet Fortier and together they had two sons Duncan and Danny Addison.
Richard is survived by his wife Jackie, sons Duncan and his wife Sheree, Dan and his partner Debra, six grandchildren Shannon and husband Romualdo, Thomas, Samantha, Douglas, Derek, and Dale, one great grandchild Nickolas, and a special friend and caregiver Sabrina Gilmour.
He is also survived by his sister in Vermont Ruth Addison Moore, her husband Charles Moore, and her children Michael, Colleen, Shannon, Ian and their children. Richard is also predeceased by both of his parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
