Ruth Tegart - The News-Journal - Feb 23, 1988 New Smyrna Beach - Ruth C. Tegart, 64, 4841 Saxon Drive, a winter resident since 1973 from Maple City, Michigan, died Sunday at Fish Memorial Hospital, New Smyrna Beach.
Mrs. Tegart was born in Groton, N.Y. and was an Army vveteran of World War II. She was a member of American Legion Post 199, Leelanau County, Michigan and was the first woman American Legion Commander in Michigan. She was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Empire United Methodist Church, Empire, Michigan.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil; three sons, Kim W., Flint, Michigan, Steven, Maple City, and Dana, Tampa; two sisters, Helen Ward, Webster, N.Y., and Doris Stumpf, New Smyrna Beach and three grandchildren, Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.
