Mrs. Bertha Baldridge Stewart Mrs. Bertha Baldridge Stewart, 77, Rt. 3, Ashland, died Sunday October 27, 1974 in King's Daughters Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Stewart was born Jan. 16, 1897, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Jack and Susan Allen Baldridge. She was a former teacher in the Carter County school system, but had spent most of her life in Body County. Mrs. Stewart was a member to the 21st Street Tabernacle where she once taught the Mothers Bible Class and led the Mothers prayer Band. Her husband, Lonnie Stewart, died in 1960. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Garnet Sexton of Ashland, Mrs. Ann Burnem of Winchester and Mrs. Kay Wheeler of Rt. 3, Ashland with whom she resided; two sons, Burgis Stewart of Kenwood and Alfred (Jack) Stewart of South Shore; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Evans of Coshocton, Ohio and Mrs. Grace Valentine of Ashland; a brother Herbert Baldridge of Ashland; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. at 21st Street Tabernacle by the Rev. E. A. Curry. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery. CHAN: _WT_USER phild
