OBITUARY for Nora Nell Wayson; date of birth: 1951-09-02; recent residence: NC; published by Yancey Funeral Services-Burnsville. Nora Nell Wayson, age 71, of Bakersville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12th, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Hoilman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Wayson, Sr. who passed away in 2018; a granddaughter, Dana Riley; sisters: Betty Wilcox, Doris Hoilman and Debra Weiford and brothers: Herbert Hoilman and Albert Hoilman. Nell loved being outside and working in her garden. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid reader.Left to cherish her memories are her children: Michelle Sparrow (Jeff) of Denton, MD, Milissa Hope of Bakersville, Thomas "Eddie" Wayson, Jr. (Mandy) of Bakersville and Matt Wayson (Austin Gouge) of Morganton; grandchildren: Jacob Riley, Nick Riley (Tyra Lucas), Dallas Blevins, Lillian Wayson and Grayson Buchanan; sister, Hettie Wilcox of Bakersville; brothers: Robert "Bobby" Hoilman (Andy) of Bakersville and Ralph "Junior" Hoilman, Jr. (Melody) of Bakersville; brother-in-law, Skip Weiford and her best friend, Robin Bartenfelder and her husband, Joe. Many nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 16th, 2023 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. Skip Weiford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hoilman Cemetery off Sweet Creek Road.
