Billy Ray Stewart, 84 of Marysville, passed away, Friday, December 1, 2017 in his home.
He was born August 7, 1933 in Ashland, KY and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bill worked for over 30 years for Westinghouse as a welder and later in life he retired from ODNR after 10 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on carpentry and woodworking projects. Bill could always be found lending a helping hand and was also a volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity. He was an avid member of the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church and the Cherry Street Baptist Church. Most of all he loved to spend time with family.
He is survived by his children; daughter, Peggy Sue (Kenneth) Gholson, sons, Timothy Ray Stewart and Mark Lee (Pam) Stewart; grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden, Marcus, Nick, Rebecca, Jessica, and Kendra; 11 great grandchildren; best friend, Tim Kibby; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Luetta E. Stewart; grandson, Justin Stewart.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on December 6, 2017 in the church with Pastor Russell Street officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church, 332 W. Bennett St, Woodstock, OH 43084.
Services are entrusted to FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg, Ohio.
