THOMAS GEORGE BIRD
1936-2006
Thomas George Bird, 69, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died March 30, 2006, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1936, in Fond du Lac, Wis., and moved to Port Charlotte three years ago, formerly from Bristol, Wis.
Tom had a bachelor degree from Carthage College. He worked for 28 years at SC Johnson as a distribution manager. Tom was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross, Port Charlotte, Fla., and former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Pleasant Prairie, Wis., where he served as President and Treasurer. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve, loved to golf, travel and sing in his church choir.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Port Charlotte; three sons, Steven (Donna) of Conowingo, Md., Brian (Donna) of Burlington, Wis., Kevin (Caryn) of Burlington Wis.; grandchildren, Tommy, Tanner, Kierstin, Miranda, Joshua, Jared and Jaden; a brother, Hugh (Shirley) Bird, Des Moines, Iowa; and a deceased sister, June Bilodeau.
A memorial service will be held April l7, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
