Sidney Bird, Jr. 95, formerly of Ripon, died Sunday, January 31, 1999, in Bradenton, FL where he resided since 1975. He was born on August 30, 1903, in South Byron.
Mr. Bird was a field superintendent and volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Bradenton. He was a member of the Ripon Grange and Trailer Estates Covenant Church, where he served as an usher.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Bird of Palmetto, FL and Hugh S. Bird of Des Moines, IA; two brothers, Bennett Bird of Oshkosh, WI and Norris Bird of Fond du Lac, WI; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Manasota Memorial Park, where burial will be held.
Visitation: There is no visitation.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1750 17th Street, Sarasota, FL.
Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home of Sarasota is serving the family.
