NELLIE BIRD
Nellie F. Bird, 87, of N2962 Oaklane Road, Brownsville, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1993, at St. Agnes Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1906, in the Town of Oakfield, a daughter of Irvin A. and Hattie Graves Worthing. On Sept. 18, 1929, she married Robert A Bird.
Mrs. Bird attended Oshkosh Normal School. She was a cashier at the Bank of Oakfield and a secretary for Bird Insurance Agency for many years. She was an organist for 40 years at South Byron Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Bird was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lomira, Daughters of the American Revolution, past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star in Oakfield, a member of South Byron Grange, Colony Card Club of South Byron, Fond du Lac County Homemakers add national, state and county chapters of the Holstein Association.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Peter at home; one daughter, Susan Schaefer and her husband Larry of Fond du Lac; and three grandsons, Robert Joseph and Eric.
Preceding her in death were one grandson; and a sister, Alice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lomira. The Rev. Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Town of Oakfield.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mach Funeral Chapel, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday to the time of services at the church.
