Orangeville Banner, Thursday, May 30, 1940 - Page 10 - OBITUARY - MRS. JAMES LITTLE: Mrs. James Little, a well-known resident of the Camilla neighborhood, died on Thursday, May 23rd, after an illness of about eighteen months. She was in her 55th year.

Before marriage Mrs. Little was Miss Nellie Sargent, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Sargent, of Belwood, where she was born and reared. Twenty-five years ago last March she was married to James Little and came to live on the Little homestead, the east half lot 19, Provincial Highway, Mono. She was a kind-hearted, industrious woman, devoted to her home and well-thought of as a neighbor and friend. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Camilla, and prior to her illness had been an active worker in the Ladies' Aid of the church. She was also active in the work of the Camilla Women's Institute. Her demise is mourned by her husband, an adopted son, Russell, a sister, Mrs. Wm. Clement, living in Saskatchewan, and four brothers, David Sargent, Wallace, 0nt., Dan Sargent, Belwood, Henry Mann, Galt, and Robert Mann, Marsville.

The remains were removed from J. W. Turner's Funeral Home to St. Andrew's Church, Camilla, at one o'clock on Sunday, for public service at 2.30 p.m. This was attended by a congregation of sorrowing neighbors and friends that filled the church to the doors. Rev. T. V. Hart was in charge of the services in the church and at the graveside. The pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Thompson, Arthur Curtis, Ernest Curtis, Hamilton McKim, Nathaniel Kinsley and Alfred Thompson. The flowers were carried by Jack Sargent, Rae Sargent, Edwin Stinson, Arthur Hodgson, Russell Thompson and Wesley McGowan.


The numerous lovely floral tributes included: Wreath, the Family; baskets, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sargent, Rae and Jack Sargent; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Walker and Mrs. Wm. Holmes; The W.A. and the Y.P.S. of St. Andrew's Church, Camilla; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Sargent; Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Stinson and family, and Mrs. Alice Hodgson and family; Mr. and Mrs. J. Denley and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Denley; Miss Elma Pearson; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Little, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Little and Misses Mabel and Elenore Little.

Among the friend's here for the funeral were: Mr. Henry Mann, Galt; Mr. and Mrs. David Sargent, Wallace; Robert Mann, Marsville; Alex. O. Scott, Toronto; Mrs. W. A. Denley and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Denley, Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Cruikshank, Toronto.
