Grandpa Bob and Iris adopted Bakersfield as their home upon his retirement in 1990. They enjoyed a long retirement allowing him to traverse North America on numerous occasions, visiting extended family in Canada. Despite progressive and colourful cardiac events, Bob enjoyed tinkering with model trains, spoiling his grandchildren, and travelling the world.
