Orangeville Banner - January 27, 1938 - MRS. JANE LITTLE:
Old time friends and neighbors in Mono township learned with sorrow of the demise of Mrs. Jane Little, widow of the late Robert Little, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. N. Cruikshank, 36 Caroline Ave., Toronto, on Wednesday, January 19th. Although 87 years of age, Mrs. Little was ill only a short time. Deceased, whose maiden name was Jane Buchanan, was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Buchanan, of Primrose. She was born in Caledon, but moved to Mono Centre with her parents in her early teens and later to No. 10 highway at Primrose. In 1872 she was married to Robert Little, who died some seven years later. Following this bereavement Mrs. Little took up her residence with her brother, the late Samuel Buchanan, with whom she lived for sixteen years. Later she moved with her family to Toronto, where she had since resided. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Norman Cruikshank, with whom she lived, and a son, George Little. Another daughter, Mrs. Ida Wilson, passed away last February and a son, John, died at the age of four years. She also leaves two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. S. J. Cruikshank, Toronto, Miss Margaret Buchanan, Primrose, Mr. Jas.Buchanan, Camilla, Mr. Jos. Buchanan, Primrose, Mr. Fred Buchanan, Mono Centre, and Mr. Alex. Buchanan, Vancouver, B.C.

A funeral service was held at her late home on Thursday evening, January 20th, by Rev. W. E. Wilson, pastor of King St. United church, assisted by her nephew, Mr. Harvey Miracle, a Trinity College student.

Interment was made in the Forest Lawn cemetery Friday afternoon, following a largely attended service in the Orangeville Funeral Home. Rev. W. J. Booth, of Camilla, was the officiating minister and during the service Mr. Arthur Curtis sang "Face to Face." The pallbearers, who were nephews, were Messrs. John Little, Alex. Cruikshank, James Barefoot, Toronto, George Buchanan, Alex. Buchanan and Jas. Little, Camilla. Deceased was much beloved for her kindness, her ready sympathy and her willingness to assist those in trouble or distress of any kind.

Relatives and friends present for the obsequies at Orangeville included Mr. Geo. Little and daughter, Eleanor, Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Cruikshank, Mrs. R. J. Small, Mr. W. J. Little, Mrs. Jas. Barefoot, Miss Shaw, Mr. Alex Cruikshank, Mr. Harold Cruickshank, Mrs. Samuel Cruikshank and Mrs. Walker, all of Toronto, Miss Ella Wood, Islington and Mrs. Brinkman, Alton.
