bullet  General Notes:

Brown- Summerfield
St. James Anglican Church, Primrose, was the setting of a lovely wedding, on Saturday, November 2, when Rev. J. M Dobson united in holy matrimony, Laurel Marie, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Summerfield, and Paul Gillard Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brown, of Orangeville Bronze, yellow and white mums were used to decorate the little country church.

Mrs. Hugh Reid, of Melancthon, played the wedding march. Prior to the ceremony and during the signing of the register, Mrs. Wilfred Stone, sister of the groom sang. "O Perfect Love" and the "The Wedding Prayer.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a waltz length gown of white nylon tulle net over satin, with a long sleeved bolero of lace, line with satin and the sleeves featured lily point effect. Her finer - tip veil with scalloped edge outlined with satin Iris, fell from a half crowned trimmed with sequins and pearls. Her bouquet was a cascade of red sweetheart roses with white satin streamers, tied in love knots.

Miss Norma Buchannan, friend of the bride was the maid of honor. She chose a dusty rose velvet dress with matching headband. She carried a cascade of baby blue mums, with silver and white ribbons.

Mr. Ken Brown brother of the groom, acted as groomsman. The ushers were Mr. Wilfred Stone, brother-in-law of the groom, Mr. Doug Hutchinson, uncle of the bride.

The bride's mother received the guests, wearing a soft blue crepe dress with dusty rose accessories and a corsage of Pink carnations.

For going away the bride chose a beige dress with dark brown accessories and a corsage of yellow carnations. Before leaving the bride gave her bridal bouquet her grandmother, Mrs. Summerfield.

On their return the young couple will reside in Orangeville.
