HUGGINS, Doris Kathleen – passed away suddenly at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Lessily Huggins (1984). Loving mother of Pat Dmytrow (Ron), Henry “Herb” Huggins, Jean Rice (Peter), Doris “Dodie” Ruston (Paul), Les Huggins, Allan Huggins (Ginny), Bill Huggins (Sue) and Kathy Morningstar (Tim). Doris will be sadly missed by her 21 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Also survived by brother Jim Schoenhals (Jean) and sister Yvonne Royal (Albert) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, daughter Doris “Dodie” Ruston, step-daughter Loretta Haggerty, grandson Jesse Morningstar and a number of brothers and sisters. Mrs. Huggins was a former member of Welland Stop 19 Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, January 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Wednesday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service, followed by interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Doris married Lessily Henry Charles Huggins, son of Henry Francis Day Huggins and Anna Gertude Garner, on 19 Sep 1942. (Lessily Henry Charles Huggins was born on 4 Sep 1913 and died on 13 Dec 1984 in Welland, Ontario, Canada.)
