Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cartmel, 71, of route 2 Catlettsburg, died Wednesday, December 30, in a Louisa hospital. Born November 27, 1899, she was a daughter of the late John and Tennie Hewett Stewart. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Buchanan Church, route 2, Catlettsburg, with the Rev. Frank Wallace officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Charles Dixon and Mrs. Robert A. Roberts, both of Catlettsburg, and Mrs. Earl Williamson of route 2, Catlettsburg; three sisters, Mrs. James Tomlin of Piketon, OH, Mrs. Burr Fortner and Mill Thelma Stewart, both of route 2, Catlettsburg; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
