Date: st 1, 1929 - Page 3 - MRS. ROBERT TWIBLE: At the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Lawson, 117 Millicent St., Toronto, on the morning of July 22, there died a former resident of Laurel, in the person of Mrs. Robert Twible, eldest child of the late William Hamilton and Mrs. Hamilton Sr., of Laurel. She was in her sixty-seventh year and was the mother of nine children, seven of whom, with her husband, survive. Three of the sons fought for their country in the late war and were spared to return to her, only one of them being wounded. Mary Elizabeth, as she was called, led a busy and useful life and many live to tell of her kindly acts. She was like Dorcas of old making garments for those needing them, and her affection was centred in home and family, all of whom now feel the loss of a loving wife and mother. She was a respected member of the Presbyterian church for many years and was always ready to stretch out a helping hand to aid any good work. The services at the house and grave were conducted by her minister, who spoke cheering words, assuring those who mourned that "Mother" had reached that city where inhabitants never say they are sick and there she awaited the coming of each of her loved ones. The funeral was very large and interment took place in Prospect Cemetery, beside her son, the late Clifford Twible. The floral tributes were very numerous and beautiful, showing the love and respect in which she was held by all who knew her. She was noted for her cheery disposition, which helped her to overcome all the hard places she met in life. Much sympathy is extended to the relatives and family.
