Shelburne Free Press & Economist - June 11, 1958 - SHELBURNE GIRLS GRADUATE TOGETHER: Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Halbert attended the graduation ceremony at Convocation Hall, Toronto, on Monday, June 9th, when their daughter, Helen Little received her diploma from Toronto Western Hospital. On Tuesday, Helen left by plane for four weeks' duty at the Red Cross Outpost Hospital at Emo, Northwestern Ontario.

Evans - Little St. Paul's Anglican Church, Shelburne, Ontario, was the scene of an interesting wedding on Saturday, April 14, 1962 when Helen Robena Little, youngest daughter of Mrs. Leonard Halbert, Shelburne and the late Thomas Little, of Mono was united in marriage to Dr. Charles Edward Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Evans, Stockton-on Tees, England, Rev. J. M. Dobson officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Wearing a full length dress of white faille with embroidered bodice, pearl tiara and fingertip net veil and carrying a cascade bouquet of deep mauve orchids with white feathered 'mums, the bride looked lovely as she walked up the aisle with her step-father to the strains of Finlandia by Sibelius. She was preceded by the rector and followed by her attendants. Mrs. Lola Zagrodney, of Pembroke, was her matron of honor and Marjorie Little, Toronto, sister, and Sharon Hill, Whitfield, niece of the bride were bridesmaids. They all wore dresses of mauve nylon over taffeta with matching shoes and headdresses and carried ballerina bouquets of tawny gold roses and yellow net.The soloist, Mavis Hill, niece of the bride dressed in green nylon over taffeta and wearing a corsage of yellow carnations, sang, "Bless This House, Oh Lord, We Pray," and "O Perfect Love," accompanied by Miss G. Tipling, Shelburne, at the organ.
The groomsman was Lieutenant Archie Zagrodney of Pembroke, and the ushers were James Bagby, of Toronto, cousin of the groom and Robert Elver, of Ottawa, brother-in law of the bride.
Flower decorations were Easter Lilies for the chancel and daffodils on the tables.
Due to the absence of the groom's parents, his two great aunts, Mrs. J. Dougan, of Boston, Mass., and Mrs. L Raeburn, of Toronto, received the guests with the bride's mother.
A delicious reception dinner was serve by the ladies of the church in the church parlor and was enjoyed by close to one hundred guests. Lieutenant Zagrodney very ably acted as master of ceremonies and Mr. Petherick, of Campbellford, father of the matron of honor, proposed the toast to the bride.
