Shelburne Free Press & Economist, June 21, 1928 WATSON--LITTLE St. Paul's Church, Shelburne, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on Saturday, June 16th, 1928, at 9 a.m., when Rhoda Bernice, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. G. Little, became the bride of Mr. Harold T. Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. A. Watson, Melancthon. Rev. R. P. D. Hurford officiated. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, looked lovely in a beige silk lace dress with hat and shoes to match. She carried an ivory prayer book. Only the immediate relatives were present. After the ceremony the guests were received at the home of the bride's parents, where a dainty wedding breakfast was served. The bride and groom left by motor for Hamilton and Niagara. On their return Mr. and Mrs. Watson will reside at Lansing.
Shelburne Free Press & Economist, July 1, 1953, page 8 25TH ANNIVERSARY Friday, June 26th, 1953, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Watson played host and hostess to a hundred or so of their relatives in the Legion Hall, Shelburne. The occasion was their Silver Wedding Anniversary. Rhoda Little and Harold Watson were married June 1928, in St. Paul's Church, Shelburne. Dr. R. P. D. Hurford, the then rector, had a busy time that day, as he united in wedlock two of his choir girls - Beatrice Jelly and Rhoda Little.
The Silver Anniversary was a happy affair. The program consisted of solos, duet, recitations and speeches, all of a happy free nature, followed by an address, wishing the happy couple might reach their Golden Wedding Anniversary, as did Rhoda's parents and her grandparents. Numerous and beautiful were the gifts, testifying to the love that existed and the esteemed value of the happy couple. There was good music throughout the entire evening, ending in dancing where young and old (from 81 years to 13 years) danced the light fantastic. Folk were present from Brampton, Toronto, Bronte, Churchill, Barrie, Owen Sound, Woodstock and Coldwater.
