On Saturday, September 19, 1970, the lovely new Stadacona Chapel, CFB, Halifax was the scene of the marriage of Bonita Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Elwood Hill of Whitfield and Graham Russell son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph MacDermott of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Officiating at the double-ring ceremony was Padre S.G. Self and soloist was Miss (Sgt.) Shirley Arsenualt.

The bride, gowned in white satin with full sweeping veil, was escorted up the red carpeted aisle by her father. She was attended by her sister Marilyn and Miss Rita Henderson, wearing brown crepe floor length dress with matching monk's hoods. The flower girls, Misses Mary Jean Hill and Laurie Rusk, wore gold colored min dresses, and Master Chris Rust born the rings on a gold velvet cushion. The bride carried her white prayer book decorated with yellow roses.

The groom, in RCAF uniform, was attended by his brother David, of St. Mary's University, Halifax, and Mr. Bruce Wilson, brother in law of the bride, acted as usher.

After a reception in Wellington House, Stadacona, for about 50 guest-from Whitfield, Shelburne, Horning's Mills, Ottawa, Moncton, N.B. Shelburne and Lower Sackville, N.S. the newlyweds left for a honey moon through the Maritimes.

Both are enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces, Bonnie is stationed at Stadacona, and "Mac" at Sheerwater. On their return they will take up residence at 15 Parker Street, Dartmouth, N.S.
