Orangeville Banner - Thursday, July 23, 1959 - Page 10 - HORNER-BUCHANAN NUPTIALS AT SHELBURNE RECTORY: A pretty summer wedding was solemnized in the Rectory, Shelburne, Ontario, on Saturday, July 11th, when Rev. J. M. Dobson united in marriage Norma Joan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Buchanan, and James Stewart, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Chester Homer.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a street length gown of white chantilly lace over taffeta with matching lace mittens. Her finger tip veil of silk illusion was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls and tinted sequins and she carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white pom mums.
Mrs. Patricia Rennick attended her sister, wearing an azure blue nylon sheer dress with white accessories and carried pink roses and white pom mums. Mr. Ken Brown, brother-in-law of the groom, was the best man.
A reception was held at the "Sharon Ru" dining room, Orangeville, where the bride's mother received her guests wearing a dress of fuschia shaded flowered chiffon with white accessories and a corsage of white roses. The grooms' mother wore a beige sheath dress with white accessories and corsage of yellow roses.
For their wedding trip through northern Ontario points and returning through Michigan, the bride wore a white suit with matching accessories and corsage of pink roses.
