More About Douglas Buchanan and Linda McVey:
Marriage: May 4, 1968, Richview United Church, Etobicoke, York, ON
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fredrick Buchanan
A pretty spring wedding was solemnized in Richview United Church, Etobicoke, on Saturday, May 4th, 1968, when Linda Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McVey was united in marriage with Douglas Fredrick son of Mr. and Mrs. George Buchanan. Rev. P. Homersen officiated and Mrs. J. McDermid presided at the organ.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-length fitted gown of white brocade fashioned with a train. Her headpiece was a wedding ring band of sequins and pearls with a shoulder length veil. A bough of shasta daises, carnations and baby's breath completed her costume.

The attendants were Miss Donna McVey, sister of the bride: Mrs. Evelyn Dinsmore, cousin of the bride, and Miss Lynn Buchanan, sister of the groom. They were dressed alike in sapphire blue full-length fitted gowns of Peau de sole with matching pillbox hats with veils. They carried bouquets of shasta daises and baby's breath and wore white accessories.

The groom was supported by his friend, Mr. Grant Ferguson, and the ushers were Mr. Alan Buchanan, brother of the groom, and Mrs. Robert McBride, friend of the groom.

The reception was held at the Yellow Briar dining room at Brampton, where the bride's mother received her guests in a gown of aqua lace with white accessories and corsage of aqua carnations. She was assisted by the mother of the groom, wearing a double knit dress of deep pink with accessories and corsage of pink roses.

For their jet flight honeymoon trip to London, England, the bride wore a matching dress and coat of hot pink wool with white hat and gloves and a corsage of white roses.

The young couple will reside in Toronto.
