bullet  General Notes:

Shelburne Free Press & Economist - June 25, 1952 - ELGIE-TEETER:
The United Church parsonage at Corbetton was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, June 7th, 1952, when Marilyn Joan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Teeter, was united in marriage to Mr. Allan Thomas Elgie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Elgie, of Elba. Rev. Russell Pike officiated.

The bride looked lovely in a gown of white satin with front inset of white lace trimmed with rhinestones. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a half cap on nylon and forget-me-nots. She carried a bouquet of red roses and maidenhair fern. Miss Leone Teeter, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, wearing a gown of blue taffeta with net overskirt and matching head-dress. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and fern. Mr. Wallace Elgie, brother of the groom, was best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

The bride's mother received in navy sheer with corsage of pink roses. She was assisted by the groom's mother in floral nylon with red roses. Lunch was served by three girl friends of the bride, Misses Mildred Cooke, Jean Proctor and Helen Legate.

Following the reception the young couple left on a trip to Northern Ontario. For traveling the bride chose a navy suit with white accessories and corsage of pink roses. On their return they will reside on the groom's farm in Mono Township.
