Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Elgie wish to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Nancy Jean, to Gordon Herbert James Conner, son of Betty Conner, of Shelburne. The wedding will take place on July 17th at Honeywood United Church.

ELGIE-CONNER:
On Saturday, July 17, 1976, at 4:30 p.m., in Victoria Memorial United Church, Honeywood, Nancy Elgie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Elgie, was united in marriage to Gordon Conner, son of Mrs. Betty Conner of Shelburne.

The officiating clergyman was Rev. Norman Greene and the soloist was Mrs. Mary Lou Akiens, aunt of the bride, who was accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Armstrong.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a full-length gown.

The groom was attired in a fawn-coloured tuxedo and wore a white carnation.

The bride's attendants, Miss Gwen Elgie, sister of the bride; Mrs. Sharon Suiksteris; and Miss Lynne Buchanan, all wore blue printed gowns.

The groomsman was Ian Bates of Barrie, and the ushers were Dean Conner, brother of the groom, and Dan Williams of Toronto, a cousin of the groom.

The reception and dance were held in the Norduff room. The Master of Ceremonies was Dan Williams.

The bride's mother wore a blue gown with yellow roses. The groom's mother wore a peach flowered gown with peach roses.

The couple left on the honeymoon trip to the Maritimes.

Prior to the wedding, the bride had showers given by Miss Lynne Buchanan, Shelburne, Honeywood Community, Nancy's classmates at Ryerson, Bessie and Phil Brown, and Betty Conner.

They are residing in Kitchener.
